Philosophy of Education
Wisdom Light Christian Academy is based on the Christian faith. The foundation of this faith is the conviction that God created the world good, that human beings fell into sin through Adam and Eve, and that God redeems His chosen children through the saving work of Jesus Christ.
It is our sincere belief that as Christians we have received much, and we have been given a responsibility to all that God has created. This responsibility includes teaching the youth.
Through Christian education the school teaches children from a Godly perspective and molds young children as they grow which helps prepare them for a Christian life.
Christian education must be of the highest possible quality. Therefore, we endeavor to serve our community by providing an education that promotes academic excellence, proper observance of health and hygiene, moral development, and spiritual growth.
Curriculum
The WLCA is designed to be age-appropriate and consistent with the school’s values. Learning is life and that learning takes place at all times.
A balance between structured and unstructured activities is used to foster an enriching classroom experience. Structured activities (such as worksheets about math, reading, writing, science, and the Chinese language) are used to achieve academic excellence.
Unstructured activities are also important because they enrich the children’s emotional, social, and creative development. Integrated in the curriculum is an understanding of Christian life and the practice of Christian values which lets them grow in the knowledge of God in their everyday lives.
